IARC confirms that all commercially available asbestos fibers cause mesothelioma.

IARC, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, confirms that all commercially available asbestos fibers cause mesothelioma.

Assistant Surgeon General, U.S. Public Health Service (Ret.), Dr. Richard Lemen,  observed IARC's meeting. Dr. Lemen said:
"The confirmation by IARC - the world's leading cancer research agency - that all forms of asbestos, including its most commonly used form of asbestos chrysotile, cause . . . mesothelioma, leave no doubt that the prevailing medical evidence is irrefutable as to asbestos' carcinogenicity."

Linda Reinstein, Executive Director for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), a leading organization giving voice to individuals injured by asbestos, applauded IARC's findings.
